Hubris

February 12, 2010

I had never understood why the Democrat party was the favored party on the issue of health care.  They’re a lot better at making lofty promises than the Republicans, but I always figured that when people see what Democrat health care reform really looks like, they would change their minds.  That indeed has happened and that’s one of the reasons why I felt content with the 2008 election.  In retrospect, I think it was good they had a 60 vote majority in the Senate for as long as they did- long enough to display their arrogance and recklessness, only to have it yanked away from Massachusetts before they could do any long term damage.  Both parties, it seems, have been slapped across the face hard.  Whether that’s enough to change them remains to be seen.
